Infibulation
Article by Francesca

The word infibulation is derived from the latin word 'fibula' meaning pin or clasp. There is both a female and a male version of this procedure. The female one is way nastier!

Female Infibulation:

Female infibulation is really nothing else than pure mutilation and torture. It is also called 'Pharaonic Circumcision', which points to its origin in ancient Egypt. Mainly the procedure means that the woman's labias are sewn together as a mean of forced chastity. There are several ways in which this can be done but often it contains the removal of the clitoris and of both the inner and outer labia. That is to say, it is all simply cut off! This is of course an extremely painful and risky procedure and it is still practiced in many countries to this day.

Male Infibulation:

Is a much milder procedure and it is also reversible which the female version is not. The man loses no body parts either. In the man's case the foreskin is simply pulled forward and two holes are pierced on either side of it to put a wire or a ring in. The foreskin can not be pulled back. The man can not get much of an erection and are effectively prevented of having sex with a female. And even though the procedure in itself is milder and not as risky as the female infibulation it was surely not easy to endure. This procedure has never been as widespread as the female version and is probably never performed today other than as a voluntary BDSM fantasy made real but it was practiced in ancient times.

Male infibulation is not a problem today. Female infibulation is. It's a horrible practice that I hope will be obliterated as soon as possible. The procedure is done on small children and often without any anasthesia or even clean instruments.

If you want to know more about this follow these links. It's not reading material for the faint of heart but it's reality. I am always amazed about that no matter how gruesome things you make up in your fiction, reality always outdones you. You can't make up worse things then what's already out there.

OK, be aware, photos here! Shows and explains male infibulation.
In stark and sad contrast to the articles above this tells of
a voluntary procedure, probably a part of a BDSM scene. Physically though
it is about the same procedure that men were forced to endure in ancient times.
